Basta Online AB

Basta Online AB is owned to 60 percent by IVL and 40 percent by the Swedish Construction Federation. The company is a commercialization of a research project developing a system for phasing out particularly hazardous substances from construction products, the so-called BASTA system.

EPD International AB

EPD International AB is a wholly owned subsidiary of IVL since 2014. EPD International operates and manages the EPD system which is a system for verification and registration of environmental product declarations, EPDs.

Hammarby Sjöstadsverk

Hammarby Sjöstadsverk is a unique testbed for testing and development of technologies for water treatment. The goal is to turn wastewater directly into potable water. The plant is owned jointly by IVL and KTH.

eBVD i Norden AB

eBVD i Norden AB will facilitate the work of digitizing the construction process for both manufacturers and builders and contribute to more environmentally friendly construction. The company was formed by IVL Swedish Environmental Institute and the Building Materials Industries.

Möbelfakta is IVL's newest subsidiary and it is a reference and labeling system for furniture. The company is run by Möbelfakta Sverige AB and is a non-profit company. The company is jointly owned by IVL and Trä- och Möbelföretagen, TMF.

Möbelfakta was created to be a helpful tool for manufacturers, buyers, designers, architects and others who use or work with furniture. In Möbelfakta's database, you will find furniture and furniture series that meet Möbelfakta's requirements in quality, environment and social responsibility. The database is open and freely accessible for anyone to search.


For many years, IVL has conducted project activities in India mostly financed by Sweden, Swedish companies and the EU. In a project funded by the EU aid budget, IVL has advised Mumbai and Delhi on how to solve their water and waste problems. IVL has therefore established an office in Mumbai.


For more than ten years IVL owns SEC - Sino-Swedish Environmental Technology Development Center Ltd- together with TAES (Tianjin Academy of Environmental Sciences). In 2014 we established the wholly-owned subsidiary IVL Environmental Technologies in Beijing.
