Preparation of Status Reports

The requirement to prepare a status report comes from Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, known as the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED). A status report must be submitted to the supervisory authority when applying for a new or renewed permit or no later than four years after the BAT conclusions have been decided for the main activity.

Operators covered by the to industrial emissions regulations must prepare a status report that outlines the pollution situation in the soil and groundwater within the area where an activity is carried out or is to be carried out. The status report should describe the current condition of the soil and groundwater and be used for comparison and as a basis for assessing whether significant contamination has occurred when an activity is discontinued.

IVL's experts have extensive experience in industrial processes, pollution sources, and the dispersion of substances in the environment. We develop and provide support to companies in their environmental work.

Hire IVL for:

  • Identifying relevant environmentally and health-hazardous substances following the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's guidance documents and determining whether a status report is required for your operation
  • Investigating and examining areas where the operation is conducted, which also includes an environmental technical investigation
  • Preparing a status report that describes the pollution situation and the methodology used in the assessment
